Regulated retail electricity prices are determined by the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA). The electricity tariff schedule is a list of the various tariffs with the relevant fees, charges and conditions that apply for a set period of time. However, customers may pay a different price if they are on a market contract with their retailer, rather than the regulated price.
Electricity bills are based on a cents per kilowatt hour (c/kWh) consumption charge for the actual amount of electricity that you use, plus a daily service fee of cents per day. The consumption charge and the daily service fee are listed on your electricity bill. Tariff 11 is the most common tariff for residential customers.
